Life and Health

Health Insurance:

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) or health care reform became law in 2010. This law will affect majority of people who buy their own insurance. Starting in 2014, nearly everyone will have to buy health insurance.

Essential Health Benefits under the new Affordable Care Act:

  • Ambulatory patient services
  • Emergency Services
  • Maternity and newborn care
  • Prescription drugs
  • Laboratory services
  • Preventive/wellness care
  • Pediatric dental and vision services
  • Hospitalization
  • Mental Health/Substance abuse
  • Rehahilitative/habilitative services and devices

All plans (except Young Adult Catastrophic) must fit into one of 4 Metal Levels. Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum plans. All cover the same benefits, but each level differs in how much of your care you’ll pay.

Travel Health Insurance

We offer health coverage for individuals or family traveling to their home country or for those visiting or going on vacation to another country. Coverage is also available for individuals and families visiting the U.S.

Life Insurance

A life insurance policy guarantees the beneficiary a fixed amount in the event the insured dies during the policy period. Some of the common types of Life insurance are;

Term Insurance

It is a small cost, big protection plan. A term policy can run for 5, 10,15,20,25, or 30 years. You generally pay a monthly/quarterly/semi-annual or annual premium and your family is protected for that term. This policy is available at a low price and the premium is fixed for the life of the policy.

Return of Premium Term Policy

Under this plan you are offered a level premium for the term of the policy and if you outlive the policy term you will be paid back all the premium.

Whole Life Policy

A Whole Life Policy provides level premiums and a life-long protection if premiums are paid. Different payment options are available. A whole life policy accumulates cash value on a tax deferred basis and earns interest. The funds can be accessed to meet any emergency financial need. Loans are subject to interest and outstanding loans and interest will reduce the death benefit.

Universal Life Policy

A Universal Life Policy has flexible coverage and flexible premiums. It is a type of flexible permanent life insurance that offers the low-cost protection of term life insurance as well as a savings element (like whole life insurance) which is invested to provide a cash value buildup. The death benefit, savings element and premiums can be reviewed and altered as a policyholder’s situation changes. Unlike Whole Life Insurance, Universal Life Insurance allows the policyholder to use the interest from his or her accumulated savings to help pay premiums.

Universal Life Insurance has more flexibility and the owner can shift money between the insurance and savings components of the policy. Here premiums are variable and are broken down by the insurance company into insurance and savings, allowing the policy holder to make adjustments based on their individual circumstances. Unlike Whole Life Insurance, Universal Life Insurance allows the cash value of investments to grow at a variable rate that is adjusted monthly.
